How to Make your RIGHT Medicare Decision

As the leading Medicare expert in the country, I often get asked:

How do I easily make the right Medicare decision?

The reality is that Medicare IS complicated, and most people go about their decision the hard way.

They start by…

  • Reading all of the Medicare mailers.
  • Go through the 200+ page handbook on Medicare from the government.
  • Talk to biased insurance agents that don’t give them the whole story.
  • Taking recommendations from friends and family whose medical needs differ.

All of these options don’t give you the full story or the confidence you’re making the right decision.

There is an EASIER way to Medicare.

Over the last 11 years, we have perfected a proven process that has helped over 100,000 people easily make their right Medicare decision.

Let me break down our four steps for you.

Step 1: Decide when to join Medicare.

The Medicare rule says:

“By the time you turn 65, you either have to be on Medicare or an employer plan that meets Medicare rules.”

Depending on your situation, you will decide when to join Medicare.

Step 2: Decide which Medicare program to join.

There are two Medicare programs: Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage (Part C).

With Original Medicare, you will also have supplemental insurance (Medigap) and a Medicare Part D plan.

Now, there are different reasons to choose one over the other, but usually, the doctors that you’re either currently seeing or that you want to see in the future are the main consideration to decide which path to go down.

Step 3: Picking your Medicare plans.

Once you determine which Medicare program best suits your needs, you will narrow down your options for Medicare plans.

If you choose the Medicare Advantage program, you’re going to select a Medicare Advantage plan. If you choose the Original Medicare program, you will select a Medigap and Medicare Part D plan.

Step 4: Making Medicare official

Now that you’ve picked your path and plans, you will enroll in Medicare to make it official.

You will apply for Medicare A and Medicare Part B through government websites or your local Social Security office.

Then, depending on the path you chose, you will enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medigap and Medicare Part D drug plan through private insurance companies.

Medicare can be extremely overwhelming. There’s a lot of misleading information out there.
